It's No Day At The Beach!

The word "Summer" brings to mind images of picnics, swimming holes, and lemonade, but this year Mother Nature's thermostat seems to be set a little high. Even under average summer conditions, thousands of workers are affected by heat related illnesses, with dangerously high temperatures effecting vast areas of the country, the risk is even greater. Below are some tips from OSHA on keeping safe this summer:

Hydrate

Drink water every 15 minutes even if you are not thirsty, to maintain hydration.

Rest

Take breaks in a shaded or a cool area, to help control body temperature.

Know the Symptoms

Know and look out for the symptoms of heat illness in yourself and others. Plan for an emergency and know what to do.
